RP from 05: FH wants to add 3 groomsmen!

FH has a 'best friend' who basically disappeared a few months before we got engaged. He also has two other friends, also close with the BF who weren't around. He just reconnected with them (barely) at a wedding two months ago and has seen the 3 of them twice over the summer. These guys should have been GM, but they did not return his calls and claimed, after the fact, to be busy in their own lives. Now, a month and a half before the wedding, FH wants to invite them to be in the wedding. This would bring his BP up to 9! and me at 6. Plus, it'll screw up our limo situation since their is no room for them. What do you think? Should I go along with this?

I don't think they should be added to your wedding as groomsmen but mabey you could have them do something at your ceremony.

They don't seem like very good friends... I wouldn't put them in.

I feel bad b/c they grew up together, and before this all happened, there was no doubt they'd be in it - atleast 2 of the 3. But, I told FH they showed their true colors. He was going thru a major career change, and got engaged, and they didn't even return his calls (and FH left heartfelt messages saying he missed his BF and if something was bothering him he should call and talk it out.)

Thats a bad situation to be in... but if they couldn't even find time to call your FH back, why should you re-arrange your plans & spend more $$$ on limos, for them. I dunno...JMHO

I agree - those are my thoughts. But I don't want him to look back and regret that they weren't in it - even though, I don't think it matters so much after the fact - do you?

while i think its a crazy short amount of time, if it will make him happy, so be it. i wouldnt worry about being uneven, i am, we have 2 guys for each girl and I actually think its going to look really cute. I think they definitely shouldve called him back etc. etc., but in the end if you FH REALLY wants them, you should let him. by the same token, i would totally understand if you didnt lol.

I more annoyed about the extra limo we're going to have to get. Can we invite them in the BP but tell them they need their own ride ?

Yeah make them drive themselves... Tell them you were too busy with your own life to get them transportation!!!

If it was someone that you and FH both cared about then I would say squeeze them in, but if they disappeared and then reappeared 2 months before the wedding I say don't put them in. It's not worth the time of trying to reorganize everything to fit them. Too much aggrevation! And that would be alot of GM.

I wouldn't add them in...they don't seem that close anymore.
