Hi '08ers, I need advice! I just got a job in Farmingdale, and with FH working in Mineola, it doesn't make sense to live in Brooklyn anymore. So after 8 months of being on LIW... I'll finally be a Long Island bride!
But I need help! I think I want to save myself the aggrivation of craigslist and just go through a RE agent to find an apartment... have any of you used one that you can recommend? I trust your advice more than just randomly picking someone out of the phonebook. Also... any advice on towns / neighborhoods? We'd like to live somewhere convenient to both Mineola and Farmingdale.
Thanks so much! We have to move by August 1, which only gives us 30 more days to research, look at places, and move all our stuff!

Hi! Welcome to the highest taxes in the world! JK! So I used to live in Farmingdale and we used Hough and Guidice in Melville (next to Farmingdale). They were great and gave us absolutely no problems. Always returned phone calls and were a pleasure to deal with. Good luck! Link

Yep rental...they found us a huge house broken into 3 apartments. One was lower level...one bedroom, one was lower and upper level...one bedroom and the other (where we lived) was lower and upper level....2 bedroom. It was perfect. Right across from Farmindale college on Melville Rd. They really worked with us to find the perfect place. Unfortunately I don't remember the RE agent's name we dealt with.

I would say look in farmingdale, btw farmingdale is BIG and there is a good side and a bad side, i liked the area near main street. Also look in mineola, babylon and amityville. They're all pretty close to eachother

I've lived in Mineola all my life and I love it here. But I must say that of course, like any other village, it has its good parts and bad parts (more good than bad imo). Farmingdale isn't too far a ride, i think maybe 20 minutes tops. Sorry, but I have no re agent advice.

farmingdale, babylon, amity etc is my FH's precient so when u do find a area u like let me know whereit is and I will tell if its a good area or not..bc some areas are not the best :(
