RP from07: Would you be mad/upset??? W/POLL

I need your help ladies to settle this debate b/c my mom and I.....
I am getting married on Nov.2-which is my 10 yr anniversary and we booked it years ago...
Now my brother and his girlfriend are looking at dates for 08 and they chose Nov. 2

Now I am very upset and I don't understand why they had to pick our exact day...My mom says I am overreacting and she doesn't see the big deal...

My question to you is Would you be mad or upset if your brother/sister got married on the same date as you?

I would be mad if someone I knew, brother sister family friend WHOEVER, took my wedding MONTH let alone my wedding day! I would pull him aside and explain this to him. Tell him your honored but that you really wanted that day to be special and just yours...good luck

BTW, I am getting married the next day, but it's ok...we can share November 07

Thank you ladies for all the advice...it has definitely calmed me down...but my brother didn't look at a calendar when he told me it would be the 2nd-he wanted the saturday and b/c it's leap year next year The saturday is the 1st.....so crisis averted!! We just can't go away like we planned!!

but no one would EVER know - i feel that this is one of those weird bride things that we should share with each other but not necessarily with the person who upset us because it does sound a little nuts.

That is a great answer!!! We do get nuts, however I too would be mad on the inside

I don't think I would be to upset. A friend of mine....her parents are october 17 and her brother is oct 18 and he sister is oct 16. They all have the same month and very close to dates. And she has said she wants hers around the same time. I think it's nice, that they all share something.

My FH picked the same day as his brother, only years later. I actually felt weird and spoke to my future sister-in-law to make sure she was okay with it. She was GREAT. She was very happy for us and honored. If she showed me any sign that she was displeased with our decision, I would have changed it. There are 52 weekends to choose from.

I wouldn't be upset if it is a year later. Be thankful it is not the same year, same month, same week or something like that!! At least there will be plenty of time between the two weddings. I would be irritated but not mad.

i have to agree. I think i would be mad, but whatever, in the future we can all go out and celebrate hehe

hmmm this is a toughy... yes and no... I think I would be more mad if they booked there wedding in 2007 ~ since it is in 2008 and you are 2007 I would take it as a compliment & be alittle flattered that they are copying u...
