RP: Need help with monogram ettiquette

FH and I picked out invites that we both like (dfinally); however, they have a monogram on the top of them. I was told and I believe that the monogram should be MY last name, not his. You shouldn't use the married last name until after you get married. He refuses to use my last name and I refuse to use his.....we are going to see if they can put the '&' symbol on it instead...BUT, just for my own peace of mind...who is right?? me or him???

you put both your intials with HIS last name...you put the last name of whos name you are taking.

'proper' etiquette is:

monogram on invitation -

Jane Smith & John Doe

1) J&J
2) JS & JD

after the wedding...if you're taking his name:
JDJ

I would only use your first name initials and the '&' or if you don't giving a flying piggy's tail about that stuff...just use your new last name...no one will condemn you.
