I posted this on the BHB board. Hoping to get a better response...
So, I had my first photographer appointment today. I love his work and style (photojournalistic with a bit of traditional). Not only does he have a wonderful personality but FH and I feel real comfortable with him. The quote he gave us I thought was reasonable. However, I can't stop to wonder if I'm way over my head on this one. Let me break it down and let me know what you guys think and PLEASE feel free to fm or post your package/price.
1 photographer and 1 assistant 10hrs coverage 3 dvd movies printable dvd data disk (contains all proofs) engagement session wedding photo guest book 100 thank you cards 10x10 coffee style book (60 pgs with 60-100 images)
all of this for...ready for this...about 6,500 We originally assigned 5000 for our photo budget and we're not sure if we're going to have a videographer. FH and I have 3 more photographer appts tomorrow. But I'm so ready to book with the first one. I'm beginning to hate wedding planning again

sweetie if a videographer is not included in that package then don't take it.

I actually am paying more than that BUT I'm getting a lot more. . .for starters our package includes 2 photographers and 2 videographers

Me too. We are both using Velvet Studios. My package doesn't include parent albums because parents dont care about them. so our package is only $4200

I am paying that much for 2 Photgraphers and a video. And I am getting so much more. Where did you go?? What are your other appointments??

I honestly don't think you're getting enough for that price. Check out the other 2 photogs that you have appts with and compare what they're all offering vs. the prices. Good luck!

And even if you parents do want albums, they can pay for it and get it later on after the wedding.

well since we get all the proofs, I'll probably make them one off snapfish or shutterfly. It will be cheaper.

I went to a few others but no one compared to them!!! I wanted to see duet also but they said they were already booked for that day. But I am very happy with my choice.
