LOOKING TO GO ON OUR HONEYMOON A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER THE WEDDING....WE WANT TO SAY SOMEWHERE TROPICAL...NOT A LONG AIRPLANE FLIGHT....I CAN'T HANDLE DOING HAWAII FOR 14 HOURS...AND DEFINITELY SOMEPLACE WHERE HURRICANES WON'T BE A THREAT....WE WENT TO ARUBA ALREADY....HE WOULD GO AGAIN...BUT I SAID LET GO SOMEWHERE DIFFERENT.....ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I just got back from Sandals Jamaica, Ocho RIos. Beautiful all inclusive many rest, many activities, or if you are just into being a bumb it great for that too. Reasonable, if your not into bugs... dont get a private villa. The Manor House in the resort is great. Good Luck

I just went to Cap Juluca in Anguilla from Aug 1 -11 and had NO problems with hurricanes at all. We also bought trip insurance though (just in case) in which case, the insurance company would've either let us reschedule our honeymoon or put us up at a comparable resort on another island
Anguilla is about 5 hours away -- around 3.5 hours to Puerto Rico and an hour to Anguilla. Or you can fly direct to St. Maarten/St. Martin and get a ferry over to Anguilla. Hope this helps!

I know you said Hawaii was too far but what about if you stayed a night or 2 in California or Vegas to break it up. Then its only a 5 hour flight each time which is pretty much what it is to Jamaica or any of the southern carribean islands.
I only suggest it because I went to Hawaii in July and it was beautiful. It was the most memorable 10 days of my life! And I would fly 18 hours to get there again if I had to! It was soooo worth it!
Just something to consider.

We are going to Anguilla and staying at Cuisinart Resort and Spa. . and we are going in July. It is only 4 hours away! We didn't want to fly to Hawaii or tahiti either! Here are some pics

Costa Rica, i think the flight was about 4-5 hrs, we had some quick layovers in Atlanta so we can fly right to Liberia..we stayed in Guanacaste, at an all inclusive, paradisus, there were a lot of honeymooners there, it was great!!!!

We went to Little Dix Bay Resort in Virgin Gorda (also about 4-5 hours total plane ride) during July! It was during the hurricane and it missed the small island completely. That being said almost anywhere in the Carribean can be a little risky then, but it's usually fine in July. We also bought trip insurance. it was AMAZING!!!

What about the Pacific coast of Mexico. Hurricanes very rarely hit there, and if they do, they are much weaker than in the Carribean. We went to Acapulco for a week and then Puerto Vallarta for another week. If you're between the two, I would go to PV.

We're going to Cabo San Lucas, also on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, to avoid hurricanes.

Anguilla was WONDERFUL for our honeymoon. The weather was great and it was everything I wanted our honeymoon to be: romantic, relaxed, and beautiful.
