MAC if free, but I think you have to buy $50 worth of product.
Bare Minerals is free and you are under no obligation to buy anything.
I am using Christina from Bare Minerals in Roosevelt Field for my wedding on Saturday (OMG, 2 1/2 days!) and I think she is great ! ! I don't have pics from my trial, sorry!
I don't know if you are under obligation to buy product from any of the counters in Macy's. What make up do you usually wear? I usually wear Bare Minerals, and did have a trial with Bobbi Brown makeup from Walt Whitman mall, and didn't like it. It felt so strange on my skin, and I couldn't touch it up because I didn't have any of the product and wasn't about to go buy new product for that day that I would probably never use again ! !
If you don't usually wear anything specific, try bare minerals. I am either a no make up girl, or very little makeup girl, and it covers up just enough of what I want it to, and I feel like there is nothing on!
JMO, sorry for the ramble ! ! !

Most makeup counters do them for free and most of the makeup people do freelance work so they can come to you day of. Sometimes you have to buy a certain amount- like at MAC, but they also allow you to take it back for a refund if you decide you dont like it.

Re: RP- where have you had a 'free' make up trial?
go into the make up department at bloomies...bobby brown, lancome , all of them do it.
Mac requires you purchase 3 things from them with about a minimum of $50...and if you go to mac be careful and make sure you tell them what you want. MAC likes to do very dramatic looks and put on alot of make up and do up the eyeshadow with lots of color and things like that.
If you're going for a more natural look then try out bobby brown

I have to tell you that I had a make-up trial with Claudia from Bobbi Brown at Bloomingdales in Huntington Mall. My boss' daughter used her for her wedding. I fell in love with her talent and booked her on the spot. She is now a LIW vendor! LOVE HER!
