RSVP bummers

RSVP bummers

I had not expected how much the RSVP no's would make me sad. I totally understand people have other trips, other weddings, during the summer. Not to mention Montauk is almost a destination wedding.
But each no makes me sad...It's like I have put my heart, soul, and bank account into this, and I just grieve a tiny bit for each person who won't get to experience it.

I was in your boat. We keep getting no's and it *****! The yes's are so much better. I knew some people couldnt go but some of them have been telling us yes and now all of a sudden they have RSVP'D No. So annoying!

from someone who had a nearly 40% no rate...i feel your pain.

it stinks when you feel like friends that you thought wouldn't miss it for the world...tell you they have other committments. it almost makes you feel like you are not as important to them as you thought! but you are not alone...just try your best to focus on the ones that ARE coming!

How many yes's do you have and how many No's so far? Don't worry! They will be missing out not you!

Oh I totally feel your pain! My mom is the youngest of 8 kids so I was really hoping that since we've been to all of my first cousin's weddings that they would come to mine! Most of them said no due to dance recitals, vacations, etc. It's upsetting because I was really looking forward to seeing everyone and just having a good time. I wonder if we had invited kids under 16, if more people would come...

yes I think everyone feels that way! Especially when its people who you really expected would be there.

I ahd a friend who was planning my wedding with me before I even met DH. We were wedding crazy together and she is a good friend of both of us and lives in the area. We sent STD's and then she told us she couldnt come cus they told her too many people had already taken that night off. She asked them 3 weeks before the wedding- we sent the std 5 months before the wedding. We were both very upset she didn't take the time to get the night off beforehand. It was someone we never dreamed wouldnt be at our wedding!

It really makes me feel better to know others feel this way, we are about 50-50 right now.
I knew the fact that it's short notice, there is a lot of oot, and it's a busy weekend would have an impact.
I did think people would really want to go to Montauk in July, it's so nice and cool there, we love it!
I am second guessing the location right now, but having it in the city would be a drawback for the LI relatives.
Thanks bridal buddies.

My no rate was that high too...I felt like such a loser at first, but as time went on I realized at least I know who my real friends are and what family members I can depend on.

Just remember the people who tell you no...when it's time for their wedding or a shower or something else important, skip their event.

Re: RSVP bummers

Suzanne, Debi and Fred received 74 RSVP yes, out of about 150 invitations, and some guests still have not sent their responses in. May 1st was the deadline. Mary MOB
