On the invitaton, when is the RSVP date - isn't it 2 weeks before the wedding? I'd like to put 2 1/2 or three weeks, because I'm sure some people procrastinate...what do you think?

It's generally 4-6 weeks before the wedding. You need at least 4 weeks so that you can turn in final numbers to the RH, do seating charts and buy favors. I did 5 weeks since I have a bunch of OOT guests.

We did 4.5 weeks and now it is crunch time. We are still tracking people down and I have to give in my final count and all my seating stuff in 1 week.

I did 3 weeks - i think you usually do 2, but I wanted that extra week for having to call people that forgot to RSVP.

We did ours one month before. Our RSVP date is August 29, 2007. We are sending them out on June 1, 2007. Some people may think that is early but we need to get so much done.

I did 5 weeks before. You need to give yourself a little extra time just in case you have call those people who haven't RSVP'd.
RSVP: April 7th
Wedding: May 12th

It is usually about 4-5 weeks before the wedding....remember you have to give your reception hall a final number 2 weeks before.

We are doing a month because I know I will have to call people about why I havent received their RSVP card. Our RSVP date is 7-25 and our wedding is 8-25. I think another thing to remember is final head count to your RH. We have to give a final number 4 days before

I sent out mine out in the beginning of March - my RSVP is this Friday and my wedding is May 27, 2007 - I gave myself a lot of time so I didn't have to stress about place cards and tables

i guess it also depends on when your hall is requesting the final headcount. I am surprised by a lot of the girls posting that they need to give a final headcount over 2 weeks in advance. We only need to give it to the hall 5 days prior.

Mine is 5 weeks before the wedding - we have a 'B' list. You should find out when your final head count is due at your RH. My count is due two weeks before the wedding - you might be cutting yourself a little short.

no, it should be a bit longer than that. your hall likely will require a final head count upto 2 weeks before the wedding, and like you said, you will need time to hunt down the final guests who didn't respond.
