RSVP Deadline

RSVP Deadline

Hi,

How soon after your RSVP date did you start following up with guests that did not RSVP? My date was 4/2 (yes I know that was only yesterday). My wedding is 5/2. I need to give final head count to the reception hall two weeks before my wedding date. I'm also anxious to start working on my table settings. I want to start calling people this weekend, my FH says not until the middle of next week.

Opinions appreciated!

Thanks

Re: RSVP Deadline

I gave my guests an extra two weeks before I started tracking them down- however I made my rsvp date almost two months before the actual wedding date so we had plenty of time to do that. I would probably start at the middle/end of next week being as the date to give in the number is pretty soon and you may have to call some people a few times.

Good luck!!

Start calling them now. You put that date for a reason, bc you need to know by then.I wouldn't wait until next week bc you might have to leave a message for ppl and wait to hear back from them.

I would call this weekend. Are you still waiting for a lot? I can't stand people that don't RSVP once you get the invite.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to wait and see what comes in today and tomorrow, then I'll start calling on Sunday. It's mostly from his side, so I have to talk him into calling (mostly relatives that I don't even know).

I hate when people don't RSVP right away either. You either know or don't know if you're able to make it.

i'd give people like 5 days. sometimes people put it in the mail on rsvp date so i'd give it a few more days for them to come.

I'm not married yet, but I agree I would start calling now! If they weren't courteous enough to RSVP by the asked date I wouldn't count on them to get in touch over the next few days. Plus who knows how long it will take them to get back to you after you call them.

Good point. People do tend to put it in on the RSVP Date.

Re: RSVP Deadline

It's good that you gave them plenty of time to reply. most people forget that you Need the info by the reply date and instead see that as a mail by date.

While you are waiting for some to call you back, as you no doubt have to leave some messages, you can use a large piece of paper and tiny post it notes with their names on them to start seating arrangements.

We are getting married in June and have 2 of 10 tables ready.

the good thing about the post it notes is that you can keep moving them around as needed and you don't have to worry about erasing half the page or coming through the paper to get it the way you like it.

There is always the website seating too however since the change over to the updated site I can't access it.

Good luck getting in touch with your guests and arranging those seats.

I wouldn't give them more than a week.
