Our rsvp date is coming up soon and we are missing so many replies. My fh has only got one reply from his side. On top that we haven't gotten any no yet. So I am afraid a lot of these outstanding rsvps could be yeses. Do you think its normal to be missing so many rsvps this late?

Re: rsvp diaster
It's right around the holidays so people are probably really busy and distracted. I wouldnt' be too worried but I would start spreading the word around that people need to reply soon.

Re: rsvp diaster
When did they go out, and when is your RSVP date???
I had a bunch pour in after our date, but that was also b/c I sent some out the week right before the RSVP date , so I wasn't too worried.
I would say that with the holidays coming, I would probably give people a call the first or second week of december.

Usually the ones that come late are the NO's. I hope they RSVP soon!

Re: rsvp diaster
our rsvp is the 3rd of dec. and we sent our invites in the end of October. I feel like people just put them away somewhere and forget about them. We are going to have to call nearly 80 people. I haven't gotten any responses in the past week. In the beginning we had a lot all from my side, like I said FH only got one response so far.

well, I always feel with anything, when you give someone a longer time to respond to something, they forget about it. That is also the reason why I put my RSVP date so close to when I sent most of the first batch out lol B/c I know people are busy, and I know that they tend to forget, so I figured if they saw that it was close, thy would just put it in the mail right away.
It sort of worked hah I had people who I thought for SURE would've RSVP'd right away, but they moved and they lost the card, or they forgot to rsvp. It's understandable. ofcourse we all wish people would just remember lol but it happens.
I would wait until after the holidays, and the first week of december, I would start calling people!

Re: rsvp diaster
Our RSVP date was August 7 As of August 15, only 1/2 of the people RSVP'd. I finally had to start calling. Some people assumed that I knew they were (or were not) coming. Others RSVP'd yes, and never showed up. People are just rude. It will all work out....don't get too stressed!

Re: rsvp diaster
I was missing a LOT by the time my RSVP date came around. A couple weeks before, I sent a little email/myspace message to a few friends and just gave them a friendly reminder that I am beginning arrangements for day and will be needing their response by the deadline date in 2 weeks. I still had to contact at least 20 or 30 people though during the week AFTER deadline. That drove me crazy, but i think it's normal. Try not to get stressed out about it.

I'm a repeat offender of this and I know i'm gonna be paid back for it! I've been better lately, i just mail stuff back the day I get it...haha
I feel like the mail has been slow lately because of the holidays, it took a week to mail something from NYC to LI! I would start spreading the word, esp on Thanksgiving that you're missing alot of RSVPs to get peoples butts in gear :)

Re: rsvp diaster
i am sure you'll get tons of envelopes after the 3rd. I don't know why but people tend to procrastinate w/ this.... even though there's a freakin stamp on the envelope all ready to go!

Re: rsvp diaster
I was receiving RSVPs 2 weeks before the date of the wedding, and I had 3 people change their RSVP (due to illness and death in the family) about a week before the wedding.
I received the majority of my RSVPs the week AFTER the rsvp date...most people don't understand that you're supposed to send it out so it's received BY that date, but rather they think you're supposed to send it out ON that date.
