So I prepared myself for it and it has begun. So far we have had 5 people who were invited as singles RSVP with or ask if they can be a guest despite the outter and inner being address to only them.
We tried to be as considerate as possible with our plus one's. We ended up with 215 total invited guests when initially we only intended to have 150.
My question:
How have you girls been handling these scenarios? I have felt like dirt afterwards but I have just been honest with people. There was major drama with my one friend but and I ended up giving in and allowing her to bring someone.
My RSVP date is Aug. 5 ....I have a long way to go!
sigh .....

Re: RSVP Drama
to avoid this problem i went ahead and put guest on the singles. its turning out though that most of the singles are actually coming by themselves even though i gave them the option. we dont have alot of money to spend but we figured its easier for someone to come to a wedding with another person than alone. we decided that if extra money was needed we would take it from the flower budget. i am not big on flowers and honestly just using them because the RH throws some in and bouquets i neeed. if its alot for the singles to bring a guest , just let them know that you may not have the extra money to cover for the extra person. hope this helps.

Re: RSVP Drama
I hate the idea of telling people we don't have the $ to pay for dates because really I don't think that's anyone's business so I would blame it on the maximum # of people allowed in the room and you're over or something along those lines. People should understand it is what it is and if they don't like it, tough! I had a friend call me and my invites haven't even gone out and was so uncomfortable being asked. I was caught off guard and I said yes uncomfortably but FH and I decided if anyone calls asking any questions about anything, we are going to say we have to speak to the other and get back to them. I can't believe people do this stuff!
