RSVP etiquette....

RSVP etiquette....

Do you really have to go chase someone for an answer? My RSVP date is Sept 30 and though I know some people just have forgotten to mail the RSVP in, other's I'm not sure ...and honestly I really don't feel like messaging or texting for an answer. Will it be safe to assume that if they don't respond by the 30th - that they are not coming and write them in as no??

It will only be a burden to you if they show up at the wedding........ so I think you would need to call them or set a place for them.

I would find out. I had people who didn't RSVp but they were coming.

I say give them a call that way you can give the caterer an accurate count.

We had this happen and many of the non-responders are coming. Call/text them.

Definitely call or email or text them. It's so Important to know your numbers. And makes your seating chart easier.

I posted on facebook or sent out emails before my rsvp by date, reminding people it was quickly approaching...anyone who didn't respond to that (and still didn't send in their rsvp) I assumed didn't care enough so I put them down as NO.

I got about 6 or so responses a week after my date saying 'NO' anyway.

THIS, but give them a day or two after the deadline date.

i waited about 3 days before i started to call/email people. I was too nervous that if they didnt respond they still might show up and come. Its just better to be safe.

I wouldn't assume anything. You know what happens when you assume!

Can you let us know how this worked out for you? I'd hate to find out people you didn't hear from showed up and there was no room for them.

I don't think a missing RSVP means it's a no. I think people are just lazy and inconsiderate!! You're going to have to chase them down, unfortunately.

I have one person who is playing games, he told 1 of my FH friends he's making us sweat it out and keep us wondering if they were coming or not. I didn't want to invite him in the first place.

My FH has texted him twice and I sent the wife a message. The reply I got from her was 'I thought he sent it in, I'll check'

Well if I did get it I wouldn't have asked. So why couldn't she just reply back if they are coming or not.

Should I send another message and tell them I'm assuming you are not coming, you'll be missed????
