Can you please let me know how much time I need to give me guests to RSVP to the wedding? I think I need to let my reception hall know the final count about two weeks prior to the wedding. My wedding date is 4/27/07. What date should I use for the guests to RSVP?

Re: RSVP for wedding
Yeah after they receive invitations they should be given about a month to RSVP. Make sure it also 2-3 weeks before the party so you can give your place the final head count and all that.

Re: RSVP for wedding
People are always late to RSVP. I agree with the previous poster that you should have your RSVP date be about 4 weeks before your wedding, so you have 2 weeks of wiggle room when those late RSVPs come rolling in.

Re: RSVP for wedding
People do not RSVP. Regardless of the date and self addressed, stamped envelope, you will still have a lot of people that dont' reply by the deadline. Our wedding was 9/16 and we had an RSVP date of 8/1. It seems early but on 8/16, we still had half of our guest list outstanding. And...from many of my friends that recently got married, that is completely normal. Save yourself the stress of running around 2 weeks before your wedding and give some extra time if possible.

Re: RSVP for wedding
I'm doing my RSVP date 1 month before the hall needs the final headcount (so that's 6 weeks before the wedding). and I'm going to mail them out about a month before the RSVP date.

Re: RSVP for wedding
For us, the people that didn't RSVP by the date (which was 1 month before the wedding) NEVER responded. Extra time didn't matter.
We were told to give 1 month before the wedding, so that the day matches. (ie: ours was March 1st for the April 1st wedding.) This way people only had to keep the 1st in mind. It also matched the day that they had to make their hotel reservations by. You just don't want to confuse people.

Re: RSVP for wedding
Our wedding is May 12th. We're sending our invites out on March 1st (which is 10 weeks before wedding), with a response date of April 7th. So almost a month before the wedding...gave me some time just in case people are late to respond..in which they always are or never do!
