RSVP Help
We want to invite some guests with a guest and some without. Those who have boyfriends/girlfriends/husbands/wives etc will have a +1 but unfortunately we can't invite everyone with a +1. How can we ensure our single friends understand this? Can we put a # of seats reserved on the RSVP card? Or is this rude? TIA!

I did something similar to what the above poster did or when you address the envelope leave off 'guest' if you are not inviting them with a guest. It really wasnt any issue. I think one of my MIL's friend questioned it but I think most people are understanding that weddings are expensive.

You can also use an inner envelop if you want to be a little more passive. The purpose of the inner envelop is to identify those who are invited. So if you address it to: Mr. John Smith that means he is the only one invited to the wedding.
For a couple
Mr. John Smith and Ms. Jane Doe
For a family
Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
Kyle, Susie, and Justin (kids in age order)

Also, we invited everyone with a guest and i'd say that 95% of people who were not in previous relationships are not bringing a guest just to bring one.

we did this also because we wont have inner envelopes. If you have inner envelopes, you can indicate who is invited there!
