Earliest May 1st latest May 18th you want to give yourself enough time to call those people who don't rsvp.

our wedding is july 17th and i'm doing june 11th so i can have time to invite other ppl if a ton say no!

I'd say May 10 or May 15 - around 5 weeks but I think it looks nicer if rounded off to a nice number.
