RSVP issue - *UPDATE*

RSVP issue - *UPDATE*

so i mailed out our invites last week. today i get an rsvp from my cousin in florida who i haven't seen in about 20 years. i only invited her and her husband cause my mom asked me to and we expected them to reply with a 'no'. well she responded with a 'yes' for her and her infant daughter! not even her husband is coming. her child was not invited and the invite was addressed to her and her husband. the baby will be 6 months at the time of my wedding. and we didnt invite any other children because my fiance has a huge amount of small kids on his side of the family and it just would have been too much.

i was so surprised she did considering we havent spoken or seen each other in 20 years! i told my mom and my mom thinks i should let the baby come. me and FH say no baby and ultimately it's up to us. but now we feel like the bad people if we say the baby cant come even though my cousin put us in this situation.

what do you think???

UPDATE: so she says she can only go to the reception if she brings the baby, she didnt realize it was adults only, she can change her rsvp to no if she's not allowed to bring the baby. so now we feel like the bad guys if we tell her she cant come, so it looks like we'll have babies at our wedding now. really annoyed about this and i hope this doesn't happen with other rsvp's!!

Re: RSVP issue

Tough call especially since she'll be traveling alone with the baby. I would confirm with her to make sure her husband isn't coming. In my opinion, I would let it slide. I think it would come off rude if you told her that the baby can't come when there will be other children at the wedding.

I think that since you aren't having other children, you can tell her that...because then people are going to be wondering why their kids weren't invited.

Maybe though, if her husband isn't coming and you're comfortable with, you could allow her to bring a friend or something so that she doesn't have to travel alone.

Re: RSVP issue

That would annoy me especially since I did not invite any kids... but she probably figures she's being nice by saying yes and only bringing her kid instead of hubby and the kid... It's a tough one though.

Re: RSVP issue

i am concerned that the other guests are going to question why the couldnt bring their children if she's allowed to bring hers. my uncle (her dad-who i also havent seen in years) lives in florida also and my mom thinks they will all come together... but i haven't received his rsvp yet lol. i think i may send her a message on facebook (we're friends on there but have never communicated) and let her know that we intended to have an adult only reception and ask if she's only able to join us if she brings her daughter. if she says yes... then i'll let it go. just didnt like being put in this situation.

this stink you have to worry about this. Do you think ppl will have a problem since the baby will only be 6 months? not like its a 5 year old running around. I dunno this is hard. Also I think it would be too loud for a 6 month old jmo

Ugh.. that would really annoy me. I can't understand why anyone would want to bring a 6 month old to a wedding.

yea thats stinks, but honestly if it were me I would prob. just let it slide. But like you said it's your call!

Re: RSVP issue

It's a tough call. If the baby would be any older, I would say you could tell her that there's a no-children rule. However, it's not likely she'll part with her 6 month old to leave w/ a strange babysitter in a hotel room, so I would probably just **** it up. The baby will sleep most of the time anyways and you won't have kids running around.

That would annoy me. They should've at least asked first instead of just assuming. I would say no. If the child would be the only one then I would say no.
