Re: RSVP 'NO' etiquette?
there is no right or wrong answer to this...people that are very close to you that can not attend will most likely send a check...those that arent so close probably will not

If you're invited, you should send a gift if you can't attend.

Re: RSVP 'NO' etiquette?
We have people you can not come to the wedding and we did receive gifts that is why I ordered more thank you pics and cards than what I had invited because of what we are receiving.

I was unsure about this too. This is how it worked with us...basically some people said no and did not send a gift and some people said no and did send a gift. I guess it just depends on the person.

Re: RSVP 'NO' etiquette?
Don't expect a gift from all no's. Not everyone feels that a gift is required.
I always send a card with small gift either before or after the wedding.

Same exact situation here.
However, I have seen from going to weddings on FH's side that some of those 'no' responders will send a gift the day of the wedding with someone else who is in attendance (i partially think it so the married couple will give a favor to that person to give to 'no' responder who sent the gift....lol)

Re: RSVP 'NO' etiquette?
I personally do not expect it.
Etiquette does say to send a gift if youre not attending, but I never expect anything from anyone.

Re: RSVP 'NO' etiquette?
I think it's in good taste to send a gift if you can't make a wedding...but not everyone does.

Re: RSVP 'NO' etiquette?
i have only ever had to respond 'no' to a wedding once, and we did not send a gift, but i was surprised we were invited in the first place!! they were people FH is friends with but does not ever see anymore, that's the only reason we decided not to send a gift.

Re: RSVP 'NO' etiquette?
We had 20 reply no to our wedding and received a gift from only 3 of them. It totally depends on the person.

If we are invited to a wedding and can not attend we always send a gift.

I wouldn't expect it. You will likely get some but I don't think its 'required' necessarily by etiquette.

Don't expect it. We had A LOT of no's and only got a gift with two of them.

Re: RSVP 'NO' etiquette?
Im a firm believer that even if you cant attend, you should send 'something' even if it's a gift off the registry. Although some people might think that saying NO means their off the hook and dont have to send anything. I'd say dont expect it but chances are..you'll get some.

Re: RSVP 'NO' etiquette?
I wouldn't expect a gift from everyone that says no, but I know that you'll probably get something from alot of them. I think it's an unspoken rule to send a little something when invited and responding no.
