RSVP oddities

RSVP oddities

I swear they are gonna be the death of me. Our due date was Saturday. We're still missing about 30 cards. Some weird observations:
I am SHOCKED at the number of people who tell you 'oh I'm not sure yet' when you inquire about where their RSVP is. One of my friends literally told me 'I'll send it when I can.' Um, there is an RSVP date for a reason...sorry if you couldn't get your $hit together in the MONTH you had the invite but that isn't my problem.

We got a post-it note (yes you read right) as a response. It read something along the lines that they lost the invite, but couldn't come. I had pocketfold invites which were the size of a small book. How on earth did you lose it?

We've had our first 'cancellation' although I don't know if they would have told anyone had FFIL not emailed them about something else. Um, when exactly were you gonna tell us that even though you RSVPed yes, moving out of your house all of the sudden has changed your plans? And these peoples daughter JUST got married last month, they should know this is a hectic time.
These damn RSVPs are the thing that is gonna turn me into a bridezilla.

That's unbelievable that people can be so careless

Like my FSIL hasn't told me if she is bringing a guest so i told FH lastnight tell her to get a move on and he says oh she started school umm wth i sent out the invites in the beginning of July she could've sent them then.

Really ppl are odd with RSVP's!!!

We were on top of ALL our invitees... We called and emailed for reminders... We kept the communication line open and available... I was BUSY but I made it my business to keep up with everyone.. Some ppl dont even care replying back!! So you just have to be upfront!! It worked out great!! Made our min. and thats what mattered..

FH keeps saying we should have saved the money and just sent out evites. The fact that people lost the invite just confirmed that for him.

Re: RSVP oddities

I hear ya....everyone should take a class in RSVP etiquette....I dont understand why people dont immediately send them back...we had save the dates and everyone and their mothers know we are getting married on halloween....just send the darn thing back. Why wait until we blow up at them when the rsvp date has passed. AMAZING!!!!

Yes people are so werid with rsvps, I got a phone call from one of FH friends saying that the response card got ripped and that 2 were coming. So I to FH tell them tape it and send it back bc i dont trust verbal responses...I bet you the day of the wedding he doesnt show up and we get stuck paying for 2! its soo annoying..How do you rip an Response card do they open these things like animals..Its AMAZING..

Re: RSVP oddities

LOL!!!!

At least its not only my family and friends...LOL!!!

It's amazing how stressed out you can get from the RSVP's.

The worst is when you call people and they say 'Yeah, you know I'm coming'....WELL THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU SEND THE RSVP BACK...IT ONLY REQUIRES YOU TO DROP IT IN THE MAIL....THE STAMP IS ALREADY INCLUDED FOR YOU!!!!!!!

Your FH is right....we should have just sent an evite...and saved time, money, and unneeded stress!!!!!

Re: RSVP oddities

This is the one thing I am not looking forward to.

Since I have joined this bard (and been lurking) I am accutly aware of how bad people can be for the responses.

***

Its the one thing thats going to cause me to drink in this whole process.

Now I know why Brides get trashed at the wedding :) They need to forget all the stress the stupid guests put them through with RSVP'S!!!

Re: RSVP oddities

'10er crashing!

FILs were horrible at RSVPing to our e-party (granted they had to make a phone call and not check a box and put in mail)

FH told his aunt (who hadn't responded) that we are assuming anyone who doesnt respond is not coming and she flipped out on him! Making him the bad guy... I'm sorry should we assume that since you dont care enough to rsvp that you actually want to be there?!

people are so rude!
