Can someone please help us out with an RSVP timeline...Our wedding is 9/15/11 and we need to know the following.
a) When should the invites go out?
b) What should we list as the RSVP by date?
I have heard various 'rules of thumb' about this, but I'm still not 100% sure. One thing we do know is that we don't want to give ppl too much time to decide. We don't want people tucking the invite away in their drawer or having it get lost in a sea of papers on their desk...we want people to get back to us relatively quickly (here's hoping lol !)
TIA!!!!

Re: RSVP Timing
I think rsvp date should be 8/12/11 and you should send them out anywhere from 6/15/11 to 7/1/11

Re: RSVP Timing
If it was me, and I didn't want them to have too much time to decide, this would be my timeline
Invites out: July 1 RSVP Date: August 1

Re: RSVP Timing
our rsvp date is 8 weeks before the wedding and we're mailing the invites out 6 weeks prior to the rsvp date. thats probably against some rule somewhere but im such a nervous wreck already about having too many people for our RH room i dont care i want those rsvps back as soon as possible!

August 12th is my RSVP date and im getting married almost a month after the original poster, just my personal opinion but i'd leave atleast a minimum of 6 weeks between the RSVP due date and the actual wedding just because you'll always have procrastinators who let a deadline lapse

Re: RSVP Timing
I would send the invites out by the end of June and I would make the RSVP date no later than 8-12-11

Re: RSVP Timing
I agree- no later than 8.12...
I might give an RSVP date of like August 5 or something?
Then I would send the invites mid June

YAY!!! You're the only date twin I've found
I think I'm gonna talk to Oheka and see when they need the final count by...we paid up front, but we only paid for 125 and I'm realllyyyyyy reallyyyyy reallyyyy hoping its not much more than that, despite the fact that were inviting over 180
