Ok so i just got my RSVP back from my brother who lives in Massachusets. He and his wife have 2 children (1 being my goddaughter). I address the invite to Mr and Mrs So and So. (not The Blank Family). And he responsed back with Total attendning 4!
How do i tell my brother that his children arent invited. I know him and his wife are going to be upset with me. But we have mentioned this MANy times in front the family, that no children are invited. It is a friday night wedding. I know they are from out of state but i dont see why they cant find a babysitter 2 months in advance.
I am just worried that my goddaughter is going to be uspet with me, especially since 6 months ago they were just at my other brothers wedding and HAD a BLAST! so i feel like she is going to be so upset : ( I feel really bad but we really needed to draw the line somewhere we have a lot of nieces and nephews in our family. (10 all together) I cant say yes to my brother and no one else.
Sorry this is so long but i needed to share this, i have a knot in my stomach and i cant sleep now.

Re: RSVP vent
personally, i would let your brothers children slide. if it is your cousin or something, then i understand, but it's your brother and i would hate for you to have a rift in your family for something like this

Re: RSVP vent
We only invited the children of our sisiters/brothers we have 12 in total so I know how you feel! Honestly they are going to be upset, I would try to find money to fit them on the guest list. I know when we were coming up with numbers I really stressed out about going over budget but I shouldn't have we had enough no's that we came well under what we anticipated.

Yea i understand, its really not about the money. Maybe thats bad to say but we really didnt want to have children there. My sister understood about her 3 children, and FH 2 brothers understood with there 5 chidlren. And then i am sure all our cousins will be upset their children couldnt come because i am sure they have trouble finding a babysitter and coming from out of state.
I feel horrible talking like this but i feel we cant let one family bring their kids and not everyone else and to be honest we didnt want children there.

If its not about the money then its your choice, you can't please everyone. I had a cousin who got upset she couldn't bring her daughter, she tried even suggesting that she wouldn't bring her husband and bring her instead lol.I would be careful of the explantation of why you don't want them there , if you say its the $ they may have a creative solution like this for you! Also when they go to the wedding if they are really upset they will see things and say 'oh they could afford that but my kids couldn't come?yadda yadda. If you stay firm and let them know your reasoning they will figure something out. A friend of mine had a babysitter hired for her wedding and put them in the bridal suite for some people who could not find sitters, not your responsability but it is an option to consider. Good luck!

ugh this is a total nightmare!!! did you write 'adult reception' on the invite?? we have a few oot guests coming who happen to be fh's cousin. they have 2 kids & are bringing them cause they are making a vaca out of it. whateverrrrrrrrrr! another guest just responded with her friggln kid. i am getting so frustrated & fh said who cares. I care!!!!! it's a Saturday night reception and not a place for kids.... i feel your pain girl. but i decided not to get upset anymore. just keep the kids far away from yours & fh's table, nothing you could do about it.
