OK, i asked several of my friends and they all have different opnions.
I started to get my RSVPs back this week. Well I got one ( a guy my FH works with) back where we invited him and a guest. well i got a RSVP back for 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My jaw dropped, how rude, i guess the other 3 our his kids.
so do I make FH call him up and say like hey we are at the top of our guests and we weren't planning on have kids there or suck it up at take it like FH wants.
He told me its rude to call someone and tell them not to bring people, but I think its rude RSVPing for 5 when only 2 were invited.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: RSVP- what to do?
FH needs to man up and call this friend. Tell him to say that at this point, you cannot include the 3 extra people, but if you get any cancellations, there might be a possibility of including them--NOT GUARANTEED. It's not rude of FH to shoot down this 'friend'--the friend was quite rude for including more people when he was clearly invited with just a guest.

Re: RSVP- what to do?
I'd just tell him you're not having kids there...plain and simple (if you're not)

Re: RSVP- what to do?
I would def call him. . that's a lot of extra people and second the advice to say. . that we really can't add extras now but if there ends up space later we will see what we can do to add your kids on. ; but honestly that takes a lot of nerve or stupidity (rsvping for 5 not you!!)

Re: RSVP- what to do?
i'd definitely tell him that you're not having kids at your wedding. it's your and your FH's day, you shouldn't have to settle for a guest being rude.

Re: RSVP- what to do?
Definately have your FH call!!! It's a must! Let them know you can only accomodate those on your guest list and unfortunately you don't have the room for 3 extra people or children! end of story!

Re: RSVP- what to do?
Def. have FH call. I just cannot understand why people still think it's ok to RSVP for more than were invited.
Also if you guys aren't having any children think of what drama it could cause if FH friend shows up with his kids meanwhile children of family members weren't invited.

Re: RSVP- what to do?
OMG!! That is so rude!! That is why I placed a line on my RSVPs that states number if seats reserved and I filled it in for them. I really did not care how rude it looked it saved me these headaches. The nerve of some people Hope it works out for you.

Oh I had the same thing happened and I told FH if you dont call I will. And I think he thought it would be best if he handled it. You have to let them know that kids were not invited and that if you would have let everyone bring their kids it would be a circus at your wedding and you dont want that!! you have enough to worry about that day!

I would have him call and see who the other 3 are and tell him you are not having kids.

Re: RSVP- what to do?
Are you having kids at all? If you are not you should definitely call him and say you are not. If you are, then you need to call and say your at the max of your guest list, this will be a little harder but you cant' say your not having kids if he gets there and kids are there. either way, you should tell him no.

Re: RSVP- what to do?
I think he should absolutely call and say that you guys only invited 2, not 5. You are sorry if thats rude but you can not afford anymore guests, can they still come.
I think it is more rude on their part to add their kids without asking so who cares.
