The end of the RSVP? Maybe it's because we're all so busy. Maybe we're losing our social graces. Or maybe it's because we're too darn lazy. Whatever the reason, local brides and party hosts say they're appalled at how many guests aren't bothering to RSVP to invitations to weddings and other get-togethers these days-- even if a stamped, addressed envelope is provided for their response. So what's a party planner to do when their headcount is left in limbo? As a guest, are you irritated when a host wants you to commit to attending an event as far as 10 weeks in advance?
For a fun story to run in Newsday's features seciton, we're looking to interview people who live on Long Island or in NYC who have dealt with this issue when planning a wedding or other party. We'd love to hear your stories and advice. And if you're guilty of ever having been a non-RSVPer (whether you're proud or ashamed of that) we want to talk to you, too.
