RSVPS

So next Tuesday is our RSVP deadline and I'm still missing more than half from my list, I'm starting to get really anxious because I want to get the seating done, as well as have a general idea of the number of people coming... For you ladies who already went through this process did you have a hard time getting RSVPS on time? When did you start following up?

Re: RSVPS

Mine wasn't too bad in the long run. I was giving gentle reminders a few weeks before my deadline. But once that came I was only missing about 10 but about 6 of those were verbal responses that just hadn't officially RSVP'd yet. I started really getting on the last few (who still haven't responded mind you) about 5 or 6 days after. I actually have FH doing it because they are his guests.

In your case, I would maybe start trying to send either text's, emails or facebook messages to some of them now and maybe play the 'Oh did you get your invitation in the mail? I never saw your response.' card and see what happens.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

Re: RSVPS

my deadline is Sept 14 and i sent my invites out about a month ago. i wanted to give everyone ample time to make travel arrangements if necessary and all that other stuff. i am missing more than half and even though i have another 2 weeks - i dont see why it takes so long to reply. you're either coming, or you're not lol

i am anxiously awaiting also - my seating chart is stressing me out without knowing 100% who is coming or not.

I'm in the same boat as you. My RSVP date is Saturday and I've only received about half back. I don't understand what's so difficult about checking a box and sending a self addressed stamped envelope!

Overall, our RSVP responses weren't too bad. As it got closer, I put a spreadsheet together of table assignments - I knew where family were going, which tables the friends were going, who I shouldn't seat next to that person. I thought it was best to get the definites into place and make adjustments as needed

With my RSVPs, I got a bunch right after mailing the invites and then a ton a few days before the RSVP date. I only had 4 people that didn't send it back that I had to call.

I understand the stress you are feeling. I cant start my seating chart until these people let me know if they are coming are not. what is so hard to right on a response card yes or now and put it in a mail box.

This is the part I'm dreading. My invitations are supposed to arrive today. I'm thinking of shipping them out next week so that people have more than enough time to RSVP. Right now I'm so stressed with the wedding that if they don't send the RSVP card back with a response I will not have a seat for them and assume they cannot come lol is that too harsh. I don't feel like babysitting grownups...

So as an update: We're only missing 3 people now and it's been a week since our deadline passed so I will put them as a NO. Anyway we had to contact more than half of the people on our list to get their answers verbally. If I knew it was going to be like this and I had to contact them I wouldnt have spent money on stamps, envelopes & response cards for guests to send back...some people are just very inconsiderate and some just assume that we're psychics and know that they're coming.

The worse part is my response card are due on Thursday and now all I am getting back are no. If you knew you were not coming why did you wait to the last minute so now i am short and have to pay for all of these people. I was not stress until now.

Can you lower the minimum with the venue. Maybe they will give you a break :(

It's frustrating, I know! Honestly I think people just forget. My RSVP date was 9/1 and got about 3 responses yesterday...still missing a handful. I basically texted everyone...if you're coming or not please send your responses either way! To top it off, our wedding is a destination wedding so I kinda need to know asap if you're coming or not. Very annoying.
