I got engaged to my lovely fiancé in June and we are getting married in September of 2016. Lately whenever someone asks when we are getting married and I tell them two years, I get the side eyes from them and then 'why so long?' in a nasty tone. What gives?! I hate being sooooo excited and then people try to make me feel bad for having a long engagement. We are trying to save for a house which is why we made the mutual decision to wait.
Even before I got engaged I would NEVER ask someone why they are waiting so long to get married. It is no ones business and it's rude!
My questions to you girls who have or had a long engagement, did you also have people questioning why you are waiting so long?

People can be so incredibly rude and judgmental. Everyone has their own reasons for waiting or not waiting. Situations differ and people don't realize that. If I had gotten engaged at the beginning of grad school I would have def waited until I was closer to being finished. I'm already getting...'so when are you going to have babies?' My favorite answer is 'When we're ready, I'll let you know.' Quiets them down in a second =)
