Lookee what I just got by email (from someone who 'knows' me only online) after I sent out an e-mail showing a picture of my gown:
> Scrap the big wedding and take back the ball gown. Big weddings are > tacky > and low class, anyway. Everyone who wants to be thought of as upper > middle > class gets into that bind, and it just shows everyone else how desperate > they are. > Scale it back, resist the urgings of friends and family. It is your > show > and it should not wear you out. > > If you think I am kidding, you should get a Sunday New York Times and > look at > the 'Style' section. It always features an upscale wedding on the > next-to-last page, and you would be surprised how small and > idiosyncratic these can be.

listen..who hasn't been dreaming of this day FOREVER! my wedding will cost like 2 yrs salary! well worth it! because I want it!
good for you i say!
she has GOT to be kidding!
i am a person who has not been dreaming of this day forever. yes it will be a wonderful experience, however it is just ONE DAY. what is most important to me is sharing the rest of my life with someone i love...
2 years salary? there are a lot of other things i would like to do and have for that amount.
but yes, to each his/her own...

People actually express this sentiment to me alot. They tell me what a waste of time and money it all is. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
I haven't been dreaming of this day forever either! I'm doing this for FI and our families. So to some extent I agree.

These are the women who get engaged and plan their wedding for 2 weeks before you, copying all of your plans.
Ignore her, and enjoy your dress!

Re: Rude Letter of the Day Award
OMG Honestly - ANYONE who would WRITE that to someone is IMO tacky and classless in the first place -because anyone with class would never do such a thing.
IMO this is a very jealous and bitter girl - Just completely ignore her - she sounds like she has some serious problems!
