RUDE OR CLEVER

RUDE OR CLEVER

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF A HONEYMOON THEMED SHOWER ? MEANING YOU REGISTER FOR THINGS TO DO ON THE HONEYMOON FOR PEOPLE TO CONTRIBUTE TO? DO YOU THINK THIS IS RUDE OR CLEVER?

IF YOU HAVE EVERYTHING NEEDED POSSIBLE FOR YOUR HOME WHAT WOULD YOU REGISTER FOR? IF YOU DIDNT WANT CHINA?

I think it's a good idea, my friends have been to some of them.

I have been to a shower that was more of a 'pampering' of the bride than a traditional shower.

I wouldnt do a honeymoon 'themed' shower. Thats a little rude IMO. I think registering for you Honeymoon is perfectly fine though...i just wouldne have my shower revolve around the honeymoon.

I don't think I would go so far as to do a theme around the HM...

But at my shower I'm including a card to our HM registry along with my BBB registry. If people are going to buy something from BBB or give me money- it's the same difference as putting money towards the HM. It even comes with a little gift card and they can write in what they put towards it or they can buy us dinner out!

People love to buy you things that you WANT to get and will find useful- so a lot of my guests were excited about that when MIL told them that is what we were going to do.

I registered for my HM so I will include the card with the login info in my bridal shower invites.

How do you register for your honeymoon? Mine has to be paid in full by the end of April-I am getting married at the end of June. Do you just register for excursions and stuff?

I think it is a good idea. Many people are doing that now.

What if you have EVERYTHING else you need and have nowhere else to register and nothing else to register for? So the only thing you can do is register for honeymoon or just not have a shower at all?

I think that it is your wedding, and if that is what you want, then go for it!

I would like to know this too....

I don't think its rude-- but I wouldn't do the whole shower as a HM theme...just insert the ccard. Also, I would give people other options...in case they can't afford a HM excursion and don't want to go in with anyone. Maybe upgrade some of the stuff you already have...or order extras-- some new sheets or towels, a bathroom set...anything you like but would never spend $$ on yourself because you already have perfectly good ones.

I think it's a great idea. Why would people spend the money on a vaccuum when you already have one........they could buy you guys a great excursion for the HM instead!

Go for it!

i see nothing wrong with it. i mean if ur already living together, u probably have almost everything u need so why not have ur guests spend $ on something u do need??

ETA: i was just a BM for one of my firiends and she requested we do an HM for her shower. We decorated with all tropical decorations since she went to Jamaica for her HM. it was great she got the whole thing paid off and she also got gifts off her Sears registry. All the guests thought it was soo cute!!
