A couple in FH's circle of friends just recently got engaged and personally emailed me to ask when my date was. Now tells us they decided on the week before our wedding. Just curious how everyone else would feel.

Rude or Not Rude
I dont understand why everyone thinks this is so rude. Why should someone get married when it is convenient to other brides? I wouldnt want to get married in September because someone is getting married in July already....this isnt first come first serve. If it is family and friends why wouldnt you be happy for each other and just be happy about sharing this special day with each other? I guess it just doesnt make a difference to me. My wedding is MY wedding and it is going to be one of the most special days of my life and no one is going to take that feeling away regardless if they get married a week before me or a week after. Life is way to short to be worried about these things.

I think it's rude to call you and then book it for the week before because now you have to make sure your bridal shower and bach. parties aren't for the same weekend. I don't see a problem with someone doing it a month later.

I agree. A week is too soon - especially if you have mutual friends who are in both bridal parties. I understand that it is still your special day but you do have to think about the ppl attending your wedding & to me if you do that, it's like you're not being considerate.

We had the same thing happen to us...one of my FH's groomsmen has been engaged for a few years and we chose our date before they did... they wanted to wait i guess... and we just heard from them that they chose the weekend before our wedding. They're having it at a private estate which meant that they could have chosen any other weekend.
It doesn't bother me much because we don't have all that many mutual friends, but they definitely could have chosen a more convenient day for those guests who WILL be going to both...especially since they had so much more flexibility and because we chose our date first.

Not only that but since he's a groomsman, he now has to worry about his bachelor party & ur FH's & rehearsal dinner & tuxes. It's just too much in a weeks time! Ugh I don't know I would feel like they stole my thunder so to speak because now they will be more excited about their own wedding & planning it. Just make sure he still acts like a groomsman. Is your FH his groomsman as well?

FH will not be a groomsman but I would say 3 of the guys in our bridal party will most likely be in theirs.

If this were not the case, if there was not so much overlap in wedding parties, I would say its not a huge deal. BUT the fact that so many are in both parties, it is not very considerate....

I am not upset about the same month just upset that it is the week before. Plus when she asked me, she said she wanted an August or Sept wedding. Which means Sept was fine.
