My FH would think I was crazy if I invited anyone on this sight to our wedding. I am not on here enough to know anyone that well to invite them anyway.

I can see were your FH is coming from. He sees it as extra money being spent on people you hardly know.

Please don't take this the wrong way!!!!

not taken the wrong way at all. totally respect your opinion.

however, in my case, there are some girls that i have gotten close to and i want them there to share the day. i know it seems unusual and i do see your point about the extra expense, but if its only 5 or 6 people...know what i mean? not disagreeing with you, just trying to show you my side.

It is all up to you who you decide to invite, but if your FH is contributing he has an opinion. Try to work out some kind of compromise.

see but heres the thing, its not a matter of him contributing or me contributing...its our wedding and we've come to this day together. and i feel like i've gotten close to some girls and want them there b/c they have been there for me through the whole process

The wedding is a long time off still. There will be GTG's and you can really get to know some people really well. So then you will know them and he won't have anything left to say.

I know you all feel. I told my dh that there is a gtg on may and that I was going, and he said: 'But you don't know those people, why are you going?
Well Hello, because I want to actually meet the people that I talk to everyday.
Guys definitely don't get it.

I saw this post and HAD to respond...when I first started on LIW FH was not a big fan and teased me all the time. But fast forward to the last six months and he has only good things to say. He still teases me for being on so much but when we have questions he even suggests that I post the question on LIW. Over time with all the GTGs he has gotten to know some of the girls I talk to a lot and he is much more comfortable with me inviting people now.

So in time things seem to change and you might find the same.

ang, i feel the same way. he totally does not feel like inviting anyone from liw is appropriate. i think he will warm up once the wedding gets closer, but he is sooo aganist it now. but thanks for the input from a veteran!!!

what bothered me the most is that he flat out said 'no.' why not give it a thought? and i only mean to the wedding, not the shower. why should be care? oy, men!!

Maybe he'd feel better about it if he got to meet the LIW people. Then it wouldn't seem so crazy to him.

Fh doesn't complain about LIW. If he did, he wouldn't have a leg to stand on -- he LOVES myspace.

I totally feel you on the idea of inviting some girls to the wedding, but why not compromise. Just invite them to the ceremony and not the reception.

This way they can share the day with you and not have to deal with any additional expenses if that is his issue.

give him some time. LIW has a mock wedding called the Wedding of The Year abt jan or so, by then you would have formed yr friendships from the GTG's and prob a a few at yr wedding. I had a LIW table & some ladies came to Old Westbury Gardens to take pics.
So the friendships formed here are true.
U see we are a close group on th 05 board

i agree and thank you for the input. i think he'll come around, he just doesn't see it the same way i do.

Re: Rumble in Boston Market

I think his attitude will change. FH thought I was insane too, but then he met a lot of my LIW weddings, and he really liked them and was totally fine with me inviting them to the wedding and even said 'Are we inviting ____ and ____? I like them!' I was so excited. It seems werid inviting people form the website, but as you start to meet people at GTG's and email them outside of LIW, they become ral friends...and I'm sure your FH will bond with some of their FH's and DH's at GTGs

Re: Rumble in Boston Market

I have to agree first of all we are 2006 so by then you could have possibly met your new best friend on this site. I always talk about this site to FH(he also has a message board that he posts regularly to--car related, but they talk about general items too) so he'll sort of challenge me w/ a response. Sometimes if I'm over and he wants a few minutes to himself to sleep or to go read he will tell me, go on LIW! (guess he knows it keeps me occupied).......... but quite often he'll ask me what others are doing for certain things on here.

I say have a LIW weddings table, and if it means introducing him to the girls before the wedding then take that route.
