I'm running a 10k on May 2nd and 5k on May 12th, but I was hoping to do one before that. Preferably a 5k- I've never run a race before (and Im kinda nervous!!)

Long Island has the summer run series. The winter one just ended like a month or so ago.
Try that...races are soo much fun! Just be careful not to get stuck near a spitter.

would you come into the city? i'm signed up for a 4 miler on 4/11 and 4/18. both in central park. there's also the Mini 10K on 6/12 in CP. it's women only, so it's a fantastic one to do. and you get a medal too!

ps: apparently, it's not 'obvious' that it's NWR because the first thing i thought of was table runners for the RH
