Running
I just went running tonight! I am so proud of myself!
I used to run a lot, but towards the end of the summer I completely stopped.
Since then I haven't been able to get motivated to do it again...until today!I want to run in the LI half marathon on May 4th. I've never run that far! The farthest I've ever run is 8 miles, but I think I can do 13 if I get my butt in gear. Anyone else interested in doing it?

Re: Running
Go for yours!!!
Email me some of your motivation, would ya!
I used to run everyday and I haven't gone running since last summer. I really need to get my feet pacing that pavement. (But sorry, don't think I'll make it through a marathon. You'd end up carrying me to the finish line.)

Re: Running
I'm proud of you too ... I want to pick up running again but I HATE running on the treadmill and won't be able to run outside until probably March!I give you tons of credit!
When is the LI marathon ... the longest I ever ran was 10 miles! I'm sure with determination and will, you can do it!

Re: Running
I HATE running on the treadmill too. I just can't do it. I ran last night and it wasn't bad. Once you start running you don't really notice that it is cold. The LI marathon is May 4th. You can do a 1/2 marathon or the full marathon. I am going to try for the 1/2 marathon. I keep telling myself 13 miles is not that far.
There is also a Suffolk County Half Marathon in April, but I think I will need the extra time

Re: Running
I run the LI half Marathon every year and I do it with a friend...we really have the best time...we are both pretty active runners and go at the same pace, but whenever one wants to stop we both do...one year she had a long story to tell me about her then boyfriend and we didn't stop talking about it until mile 10 then we realized we only had a little bit more to go...
now we purposefully don't talk about anything (unless where to meet and time) for a week before...
If I run alone...I need music...I will even sing to myself to make the time go by...
good luck
