I have recently really gotten into running on the treadmill. I NEVER was a runner, but one night I tried it and I've been hooked for about a month and a half now. I have lost major pudge from my stomach area and have toned up and feel great!! Of course the scale hasn't moved, but I have lost inches.
Any other avid runners out there? Do you run on the treadmill or outside? How many miles do you run and how fast? I can only run 2 miles right now, and it takes me about 22 minutes, so I'm definitely not the fastest, but I'm feeling great!
Just looking for some motivation from other runners to keep it up!

Re: Running / Jogging
I've been running since March. I run 6 times a week, every week. I never ran before and never thought I wanted to get into it. I started out walking about a mile a day. Now I don't do any less than 3 miles a day. The most I have done was 4 and 1/2.. I am not very fast either, usually about a 10 minute mile. I feel great also! Keep it up!!

Re: Running / Jogging
I find it to be the best cardio to burn fat fast. I'm on the treadmill about 45 min a 4x a week, running about 30-35 minutes in that time.
Even a nice slow jog makes you feel good if you start getting tired......Keep it up!

Ever since it got warmer, I've been running outside with my friend. I love it!!! Definately gets the blood flowing and puts a smile on my face when I'm done!

I run on the treadmill - can't seem to get the hang of running out side. I run about 2 miles in 20 minutes...a little more if I'm in shape - which I'm not now.
I run in intervals, meaning I do a certain speed for one minute, then increase it every minute for about 4 minutes, then go back down the original speed. It keeps things interesting and is supposed to be best for fat burning...

i try to run 3x a week and now that the weather is getting nice, i try to go outside once per week, i jog over the brooklyn bridge and back.
on the treadmill i also do intervals of hills which definitely helps the glutes.

Re: Running / Jogging
I have been running 7 days a week for about 20 minutes. I try to walk a little too to add on time. I just don't have that much endurance yet.

Re: Running / Jogging
It's so funny b/c for the past 3 weeks I been walking on the track, just a little over a mile. The last 2 nights I decided to jog the long sides and walk the curves. I started that and now I'm totally into the jogging, I come home feeling so much better. Eventually I hope to jog the whole distance, but for now mixing it up is great.
Congrats! Keep up the good work!

Just got the motivation out of nowhere to run 2 miles and do weights and abs - at 10:00 at night....I'm so weird like that, but at least I did it and now I feel GREAT! :)

Re: Running / Jogging
I am addicted to running right now. I start off walking and the do intervals. I usually run for 35-45 minutes on the treadmill and feel great afterwards. I just started again and hope to see some results soon!

Re: Running / Jogging
I've been into running at different times in my life - unfortunately now does not seem to be one of them as I cannot seem to get my butt in gear! But this thread is getting me motivated, especially since the weather has been getting nice!!

Re: Running / Jogging
I can't keep my breath when I run/jog....I am only able to do it (on treadmill) for a minute, minute and a half, before I am panting like a dog. I walk at least 3 times a week, usually for a mile, maybe a mile and a half if I go with my mother (she's slower)....but I walk fast, like 3 pmh, 3.5mph....I know it sounds stupid, but I feel like I never learned how to run.
