Running of the Brides at FB???

Has anyone gone to the Running of the Brides at Filene's Basement?? I am up here in Boston but I know they do it down in NY as well. Just wondering if anyone had any experiences to share - good or bad. I read an article about it and they sell gowns that were orginally $2500-$10,000 for $299, $499, or $699. THat alone makes me want to go.... except for the thought of the broken bones that have occurred in the madness of it all. yikes!!!

Cool. I am excited. They have $10,000 dresses there for only $699 and under!! I have to go. Unfortunately I have no one to go with me as my fam and friends are all in Long Island.

I still think I am going to try and go solo anyway.

It is only 1x a year everwhere except in Boston. In Boston they have it 2x a year since that is where it originated. I don't think it occurs again in NY until sometime in '09 (spring I think) .

If anyone happens to be treking up here to Boston to go and is going solo let me know... I know its a long shot but at least we can team up

I went solo.. pain in the butt beause people bring like an army with them and you cant grab as much... but otherwise it was fun.

So did you end up getting your dress there then??I am so excited but a bit nervous about going solo. I don't know how I am going to be able to carry all the dresses, try them on, and watch over the dresses I grab all by myself. yikes!!! What am I getting myself into ....

I would start lifting weights and kickboxing in your spare time JK!!!!

The Filene's in Downtown Crossing used to do it - but they since have closed. According to the FB website, it will be at Hynes on Aug 22nd.

A friend got her dress there 2 years ago - it retailed for over $5k but she got it for like $400. She went with her mom and 2-3 bridesmaids. She staked out a mirror while they grabbed for dresses off the racks.

I'm sure it's fun - but definitely not for me. I can't deal with sifting through racks like that

Nope didn't get mine there i ended up getting mine at a place in Taunton.
