Re: Russian - Jewish Brides
Wow, I just found this thread :)
Nice!
We are having a modern orthodox wedding.
Somehow both of us are against registering anywhere.

My fiance is Irish Catholic. Obviously, we're having an interfaith wedding (both a rabbi and priest will officiate).
My veil will cover my face during the ceremony.
I am signing a ketubah (still have to find an interfaith one that I love).
I'm not getting a solid band. I plan to wear a diamond wedding band and cannot fathom spending additional money for a ring that I would only use for the ceremony (it wouldn't have the same meaning for me if my ring wasn't the one I was married with anyway).
I borrowed a gold band from my mother-in-law..it was also her grandmother's.

Blu-Ize, thanks for the suggestion (I realized that last sentence was yours & not mine although it was in a quote). My parents are divorced and my mother's wedding band was stolen when I was 5. Borrowing it is obviously not a possibility. My grandmother never had a wedding band. I'll check with her to make sure since that's actually a very sweet idea.

really? I'm from Minsk too!
...we're also (trying) to do a Modern Orthodox wedding... I'm more pro modern, but Rabbi is Orthodox, so I'm not sure what's going to happen yet.

I know what you mean. We ended up hiring a Russian Cantor. I think it'll be a perfect mix with religion, tradition, and Judaism

We're doing a modern orthodox wedding too, but we wont have separate dancing and we will have female singers.
