Russo brides - NEWS...sorry so long...
I posted this on BHB but wanted to make sure all my fellow Russo brides read it...sorry it's so long!
Hello Ladies!
I went for a food tasting last night with my FH, my parents and FMIL/FFIL. IT WAS FRIGGIN AMAZING!
First off, the food tasting was 4 hours long...FOUR HOURS!
We tried all the possible appetizes (5 different ones and we're going with the one with the marinated shrimp and artichoke and spinache pie). We tried the 6 different types of pastas (we chose the creamy pesto sauce and the alla vodka sauce). We tried the 4 different types of salads (I want to see if we can get the tri-color lemon dressing on the house salad). We tried the 11 different dishes that the guests get (everything was out of control amazing).
Then, our amazing matre'd for the night (who I'm requesting for our wedding), Louis brought out a mini-venetian spread. Chocolate covered fruit, 3 plates of italian cookies and pastries, a plate of truffles, and fresh fruit. He said that that wasn't even scraping the surface with what you get at the venetian hour. First he said that when the venetian hour starts, the bride and groom walk down the area (cocktail room area) where sparklers are lit...Louis said it makes for amazing pictures so make sure your photographer knows it! He said the Venetian hour includes (and he couldn't remember everything) 2 chocolate fountains, a zeppoli station, a fried ravioli station where the raviolis are stuffed with white and milk chocolate, a candy bar, a gelato station (with mini ice cream cones or bowls), there's a breakfast station with waffles, omletes, french toast, there's bananas foster, and a large cannoli where a pastry chef fills the mini cannolis right in front of you...and Louis said that he was forgetting some stuff!!!
My future in laws were in awe of everything there...and to top things off, Louis told us that the bride and mothers of the bride and groom, if they want, get Russo slippers to change into at some point in the night so that they too can enjoy the night!
For those of you that are getting married during the holiday's, the decor was GORGEOUS! It was all decorated in white with 'snow' and hanging snow flakes (sorry I dont have pics...forgot my camera). It looked like a winter wonderland...it was amazing! The garden area at night looked amazing, especially with the floating gazebo and the almost full moon reflecting off the water...I definitely want to get pictures at night outside!
Ok, I think that's it, but we got home around 1 am last night and my FH and I are still full...breakfast is a no go this morning! FM if you have any questions, but DEFINITELY book a food tasting immediately and go on a completely empty stomach!
