I was wondering if anyone knew a place that was rustic like on the island (maybe a barn). That would not cost an arm and a leg. My sister does not want to spend a fortune on a wedding but has about 150 coming to the wedding. Any help would be appreciated.

A barn may end up costing more than using a hall once you bring in all of your own vendors- caterer, tables, chairs, etc. Check out The Riviera and Stewart Manor Country Club.

I second the Riviera. I'm aiming for rustic/fall theme and I thought Riviera was great and the price was right!

I'm getting married at a barn in queens that fits 120. It's 2000 to rent the space, but we need to do everything ourselves. (But they do provide 120 chairs and 10-12 tables for the barn)

Milleridge Cottage! No ugly carpets, a fireplace in the reception room, high wooden beams in the ceiling, and deep mahogany floors throughout!

Old Bethpage also has a barn but they don't really offer much more than a site rental. You will have to bring everything in that you will need but I do think they have a company that can help you with that. (I think it's called the Dover Group)
