Who's been there before? I've only been there for company parties. I'm thinking of taking DH there for his 30th birthday. What's the average price for entrees/steaks? What's the dress like? Just want to have an idea before we walk in. Thanks!!

Re: Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
I went to the one on Old Country Road before, but only once. I thought the food was good, but not necessarily worth the price (we actually liked the Wine Cellar at the Carltun much better). It gets expensive because all the sides are a la carte. So if your guy is like mine and has to have both the mashed potatoes and the sweet potato fries, you're looking at a hefty bill I don't remember how much we spent, but it was probably over $150 after tip and tax. As far as dress, I would suggest khakis and a tie for him (maybe bring a blazer in case everyone else has one). Hope this helps!

I was unimpressed. Like jenniesunshine said, the food was good, but it wasn't anything I was dying to go back for, nor was the atmosphere. I'd much rather go to a privately owned steakhouse over a chain anyday.
i like it there alot too people without drinks about 125 with dersert. with drinks it cook alot more depending on what you drinking.

its one of DH's favs so we have been to the old country road one many times( I Personally like burton/doyle better )
You can eat for about 100 bucks, a little over 100 if you dont drink and have the steak for two and one side or so. ITs good food but not the best, since your pregnant you dont have to worry about alcohol bringing up your bill :)

I thought it was better then Peter Lugers, that place was WAY overpriced for the food. You might want to try Mortons Steakhouse in Great Neck.

This place KICKS ARSE!
They cook the steak in a 'butter sauce' that you will either love or hate. I love it! I was just in the one in Washington DC a few weeks ago with a co-worker. I can't believe I waited that long to go. The last time I went was years ago. We dropped about $130 (DC pricing) and we each had two drinks.
I *highly* recommend this place. When I am in SF next month... ill be going to Ruth's again.

Yes that's a good point Tammy. We've been saving a lot of money over the last couple of months from that.
I think I'll give it a shot. It's right near our apartment that we'll be moving out of in a week so it's a good time to try it.
