Re: Sad...

i'm sorry that your fried decided this. sometimes, people need a little time to do what is right for them... even if that means that they won't end up together.

maybe it was financial reasons. that's nothing to be sad about.

there are a few girls here who had to postpone their weddings because of finances.

idont want to spread their personal issues but its NOT financial.....everyone knew they wouldnt work anyway i think they are more infactuated with each other...its sounds crappy to say but i guess its better now than after and end up in divorce

No - I disagree - I don't think if you decide to put off your wedding you should just go ahead and get married anyway because you should overcome things together - this is a much smarter decision - why get married if you are not sure? Better to call things off now and see where the relationship is going then get married anyway... thats a worse decision!!!

This is just one of those things where

1. Everything happens for a reason. If they feel they need the time, it is better that they take it than rush into forever. If they are not ready it can harbor ill intentions, resentment, and ruin something that may have been saved with time thought and energy.

2. I always try to remember in a person's relationship that you do not know what happens behind closed doors. No one truly knows everything about someone else's relationship (even if you think they tell you everything.) In an instance like marriage, whether everyone thought they wouldn't last or not, just remember that it is between them.

Sometimes it ***** because it is something you yourself are looking forward to, but just be there for her as i'm sure she is going through a hard enough time. Just remember you said you wouldn't know what to do, and she may not either, so just give her an open ear to listen.

It's true it's very sad.
But, it's better that they realize it now, than get married and then end up going through a divorce. It's better that they take the extra time now to figure things out and decide if they should get married eventually.
I had a friend who went through the same thing, at the time she was devastated but now she knows it was for the best.

Your friend obviously needs time to figure it out. Better to postpone or cancel then divorce.

It's very brave of her to postpone... it would be much easier to just go through with it....
