I agree with the girls who said to try and go for a different day of the week. Maybe a different month too- June is very popular for weddings. Or go for an afternoon wedding instead of a night one.

Re: sad
You are so lucky to alreay have a house, Change the month or find a new place. With a baby and a house, you don't need to have deal with finacnical pressure.

I'm so sad to hear that . I know you have really done a lot to cut your costs so far.
Does the contract say that you have to pay 75% of the cost or is that what a person told you? B/c they usually say that you forfeit the costs up to a certain date. Otherwise, I would definitely go for an off-season month. Maybe they have other food options (buffet vs. sit-down).
I really hope something works out for you. It really isn't worth it to stress over the wedding when you've already been blessed with a house and baby.

Maybe you can nego the minimum and cut your guest list or try Jan, Feb or March the cheaper months.
Sorry you have to change dates.
I have to agree... try a less popular month... you'll still get the hall you love and probably at a much more reasonable price.
I agree , alot of places have less prices in the off seasons.

Where are you getting married? I would explain the problem to them and see if they have any suggestions on how you could cut costs.

I'm sorry... where are you getting married? There are monay things you can do to cut costs. No limos esp if you are getting married there, DIY projects, non-floral CPs, go to Tri-County for your veil and DOJ, make your own album on shutterfly or snapfish, get basic pkgs for music etc.
I have seen brides on here 'sell' their wedding dates before. Not saying you should do that, but they sound very inflexible...and not helpful. If worst case scenario (a good rule of thumb is that the reception is about half of the total expense) you do have to do this, advertise it here as soon as you can. Also remember....a wedding is one day, and a house is a very long time, it's awesome you have a house already!!

Maybe try and find a hall that includes a package deal? They tend to be very reasonable- usually comes out to about $100pp for 100 people..however that also includes DJ, flowers, limos, photog etc. The places that offer this that I saw are Ariana Waterfall, Holiday Inn Plainview, and Manor East.

Re: sad
make sure you triple-check the wording of your contract before you decide to sell the date or cancel.
my friend is going thru this now with an RH in NJ and it has turned into a horror....she is calling a lawyer.
i really wish you all the best. your RH is beautiful and with over a year away, i am sure you can find someone to take on your contract, but just double check the paperwork before doing anything to see what the deal is.

I would definitely not take out the loan. I think you should look into the winter months like ending of March and April. I can't believe that you have to pay 75% if you want out of the contract. If you can find someone to take your date go for it. But if you can't I definitely agree with all the other ladies on having it in the winter months.

Re: sad
i agree with everyone that said to change to a different month. RH prices drop like crazy so you still get the wedding you want, just a different month. when we were getting prices from our RH they were all across the board for different months and days. hope everything works out for you!

Why won't they negotiate? Depending on how much you already have sunk in I'd consider changing halls.

definitely don't take out a loan. i think that adds extra stress for the future that you wouldn't want. if you are 100% sure they won''t help you out with the price at all, depending on how much you put, is there any chance you can spin that into maybe a really nice RD @ that hall? then find another place that is willing to work with you on pricing for the wedding itself?

Re: sad
Thanks Ladies!!!! When I originally booke for this year the price was ok because I booked 6 mths before the date and then I had to change my date for financial reasons. They have tried everything....but the price for even off months doesn't work for me. The only way is if I cut my list again from 100 to 50 or 60 ppl and the lowest they will go is 100 ppl.
Thanks for all your help

Winter months is still out of y budget....afternoon is out of my budget....weekday weddings...I was told its the same as nights just take off like 20 bucks because its still a night wedding which would still be well over $100pp afternoon is a little under $100 but with a guarantee of 100 ppl we can't afford it w/o a loan...which I don't want to do
