sad

sad

So.....I signed a contract for my RH and had to change my date due to finances. Since I changed my date from this year to next year the price went up. FH is the only one working and I'm home with the baby so money is tight after all the bills. FH said that he really doesn't want to pay so much per person for a hall and we have to do drastic cuts because we just bought a house on top of that...and have a 6 mth old baby....I don't know what to do. I love the hall but it doesn't seem like it would be possible without a loan. Any Suggestions? My hall won't negotiate the prices for next year.

TIA

Maybe you can nego the minimum and cut your guest list or try Jan, Feb or March the cheaper months.

Sorry you have to change dates.

I have to agree... try a less popular month... you'll still get the hall you love and probably at a much more reasonable price.

Re: sad

see if booking on a thurs or sun is cheaper. My wedding will be on a thurs which is abt $50 cheaper per person.

Im also using candles instead of flowers for my cp...the candles are 50% cheaper as well

Im using two limos instead of 3. I have a large bp. The limo will pick up the guys drop them off then come pick up the grls, my mother moh and I will ride in the second.

Look into areas where you can cut back. Im not doing favors bcuz most ppl dont keep them anyway.
Im also printing my own invites. i went to staples and got a diy kit 100 invites rsvp cards and envelopes for abt $40.
Im also using a very inexpensive photog/vid n dj

Good luck and dont be sad...your joy comes from the support and love of your family

I totally agree with everything you said. Really good suggestions. A Sunday afternoon wedding in Jan, Feb or March would probably be a lot cheaper.

Dont be sad. Its a tough economy to plan a wedding.Your ahead of the game. You have a house and a beautiful baby. If you cant do the hall try a nice restaurant with big party room. All that matters is the company and you and your husband.

ITA the wedding will only lasy a few hours...but the life/family will continue to grow. I try my best to focus on our relationship and not get caught up in the actual 'wedding'...my life with him will be more important than that DAY

You can always have a BIG renewing of your vows later....I would rather have a happy & healthy family and HOUSE than pics and memories of my wedding day

They won't even negotiate the minimum. They had already set it at 100 and they said there was nothing else they can do for me. Thanks though

Is there anyway to get a smaller room so they have no choice but to change your minimum?

It's one wedding at a time. No choice in rooms.

would you be willing to have an afternoon wedding? I am saving nearly $40 pp by doing this and my minimum became a lot lower than if i wanted to do a Sat. night.

I agree, if money is that much of an issue I'd go for the afternoon wedding. You could always arrange an 'after party' so things don't have to really end so early.

I am having an afternoon wedding. I think thats my problem. It seems like my only option is to try and get someone to take over the contract and find something that fits my budget.
