Just found out that my best friend/MOH's surprise baby shower that was scheduled for the sunday before my wedding had to be rescheduled for the sunday after (when I'll be on my honeymoon) because her sister is going to be OOT at another wedding the original day. We've been best friends since we were 13 and I'm going to be the godmother. I can't even vent to her because it's a surprise and her mom and sister are planning it since I'm going to be busy with the wedding.
My mom will be going in my place, but still, I can't imagine missing my best friend's baby shower!
PS: It can't be any other day because she lives out of state and is only here for a short time to help out with the wedding.

Re: Sad.
that STINKS but there is really nothing you can do!! maybe try to give her a call during it and tell her you love her and wish she was there! or write it in a card.

i'm so sorry you are going to miss her shower. if i was you, i would buy her a really nice gift and a beautiful card an write something really heartfelt in it. she is going to find out after the shower why you won't be able to be there and since its a surprise she knows you won't have had anything to do with it

Re: Sad.
That stinks! I know I would feel the same if I had to miss my best friend's shower. Maybe you can do something special for her, like video tape a message and ask them to play it at some point during the shower so she feels like you are there?

Re: Sad.
That does totally stink!!! I'm sorry.
But like another bride said, maybe tape a message/video for her or even better why dont you Skype from your Honeymoon?
I am sure you can have arrangements made for a laptop at the shower and on your honeymoon.. That would be really cool!!!!

Re: Sad.
Get a lifesize cardboard cutout of you and have your mom put it at the party! That way you are there! I've actually done this and its super cute and the party pictures turn out awesome and crazy funny!

I know how you feel, but it is not your fault and I am sure she will understand. I am missing my BFF baby shower as well because it's on 4/30 and I still cannot attend any parties because of my grandfather's passing. I am sure she will understand and you can celebrate together when you get back. We are doing a brunch to celebrat after the mourning period is over.

ITA with this!!!
When I had my surprise baby shower & my best friend who lives in FL couldn't make it she sent a gift & a beautiful card . I really thought she was going to jump out of somewhere but when I saw what she purchased me & from what she wrote me in the card.
