Sad about hair dresser :(

Original post by Jesaroo2

I really love the way my hairdresser cuts my hair..like i have never found anyone better, but on tuesday I was supposed to have my hair highlighted, low lighted and cut but I was stuck in surgery for 8 extra hours and couldnt leave to make a phone call so I missed my appointment ..I felt really bad but whatever so I called the next day to appoligize and the receptionist and her were so nasty about it...tell me she was really mad...I know it sucked she prob lost money but I felt really bad...so now I dont wanna go back..except for the fact that shes amazing and I trust her...but I dont want to go some place that I am paying for a service and she is nasty. so I am in need of a really nice upscale place where I can trust them to do my high lights and cut...I live in suffolk and dont want to travel out of there :)

thanks girls

That's what I was going to suggest- Spa Blue. Jesaroo, if you live in Patchogue, definitely go to Spa Blue. They are AMAZING! They do color really well and are nice. If you take Broadway down to Montauk Hwy, then make a left to go East on Montauk and it's this big huge house like a quarter mile on the left.

If you are a loyal customer and even bothered to call and apologize, they were both out of line by being rude to you. You have absolutely no reason to be embarassed. Having said that, if you want to make nicey, you can call to make your appointment and at that time offer some sort of payment for their time. This would be very generous on your part, and if they have any class, they should refuse (unless they have a written policy about missing appointments). It is traumatic to have to change hair dressers, but if in the end you feel you have no choice, just follow the recommendation of one of the brides here.

Good luck and I am sorry they treated you so poorly. Hope everything went well with the surgery!

Sorry about this, they should have at least let you explain.

that's rediculous!!!!! I'm SURE she's had worse happen...there's no reason for her to be nasty to you....i mean - look - she just lost a client! ANYWAYS, I go to Krystle at the Katherine John Salon. It's right on 347 across from the Homegoods shopping center (just west of Rt. 112) SHE'S AMAZING. Young and totally loves what she does. check her out!

I dont know of a salon in suffolk but if your ever in Massapequa, my daughter goes to Majestic on Merrick Rd. and they do a great job. I wouldnt give them the satisfaction of another apology or take the chance with her now with my hair. Good Luck!

What is the name of the hair salon. I go to Harvey Allen in Islip. I get my haircut with Luis Miguel ... He is amazing!!!

About three years ago I went to Novelle's in Babylon and asked for low caramel highlights and they dyed my hair bright red with permanent hair color. Oh my God! I still have the pictures. They had to remove the color by bleaching my hair 3 times ... my hair was damaged for 2 years. They never apologize to me and they made me pay.

So, don't feel bad. If you don't feel comfortable go somewhere else. Good Luck!

I can't believe you were treated that way -- things happen in life, like surgery, they should have been more understanding towards you.

I go to T.Carlton's Spalon in Saint James and I have Tom(the owner) cut my hair. He's great!! I love the way he cuts my hair. I wouldn't recommend just about any of their hair dressers -- my mom goes to Stacia.
