Sad-Bee Gees

Sad-Bee Gees

I was stunned and crushed to hear that Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees died over the weekend. He was 53.

The Bee Gees have meant a lot to me in my life, and have long been one of my favorite bands. I even had a Bee Gees lunchbox in 3rd grade. 53 is too young to die (he died of a heart attack before the hospital decided to operate for an intestinal blockage - his brothers are publicly blaming the hospital and the doctor's indecision to operate on an emergency basis). For those of you not as familiar with them as I am, he was the bearded twin who sang backup and played the keyboards.

This means that their mother has now outlived two sons since Andy Gibb died of his heart attack or whatever it was back in the 80's.

Intestinal blockage is BRUTAL! It is crushing pain coupled with a nasty infection - it is the same thing that killed the little girl who played Heather-Anne on Poltergeist (the pretty little blond girl - 'They're heeeeeerrreeeee').

Horrible. I'm so sad.
