Sad but the right thing to do

My dad just called me. My parents have decided to move. He's been out of a job since 9/11 and my mom is to ill and hasn't worked in years. They can't afford to live here anymore so they are looking to move after my wedding. It's sad cause they have been in their house for over 25 years, but the right thing to do cause they can't afford it anymore. They will move up to syracuse where my brother and SIL live. Its a lot cheaper up there. I'm in a little of shock. I knew they couldn't afford it anymore, but I really didn't think my dad would ever leave, but ya got to do what ya got to do.

I'm so sorry. I don't know what I'd do if my parents and brother were far away.

I know how you feel. My dad is close to retiring and his first goal is to move off of LI. The thought of them leaving and moving out of the house I grew up in is unbearable for me to think about. We're here to listen!
