Originally we had planned on doing 1 week in Tahiti and another in Australia - but we just found out that June is Australia's winter. - any suggestions for week 2 near Tahiti?

You can easily do 2 weeks in Tahiti... there are so many beautiful islands!! If we could afford 2 weeks, we would add the island of Taha'a (we are going to Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora). Have you chosen the islands or resorts you want to go to?
If you want to split up the trip you can do Tahiti with New Zealand or Tahiti with Hawaii.
