Sad Lady I met at Lunch...

Sad Lady I met at Lunch...

I went to have pizza for lunch! YUMMY! Lots of Carbs...Anyway, this lady saw my ring and said 'Planning a wedding?' I said 'Yeh, you? (she had a ring on too) she said 'not anymore, I lost my fiance'. I said 'Oh, I am sorry.' She said 'He was killed on 9/11 and I will never ever get involved with anyone ever again.' I continued to extend my condolences and in all honesty I wanted to cry so bad. She walked off and said 'Good Luck, much happiness' I was so sad for her!

I could never imagine losing Pat. I would really go crazy! Could you picture, she was a bride to be just like us and it was just shattered one Tuesday morning. That is so sad! I need a hug!!!!!!!!

Re: Sad Lady I met at Lunch...

That is awful.

I few years ago, my brother read in the local paper that a guy I went to HS with died ( from complications from a usually non-fatal illness)
he was engaged to a girl I also knew in HS.
That's got to be awful. Not that loosing a partner is easy, but their wedding was close, I'm sure things were probably all set.

It just makes me thank God Almighty that my FH was ok. He had to walk 6 hours just to get to a train station. But Im glad he's ok.

I almost lost 2 friends that day, but God was watching over them that day. One was at 2 WTC and when they told her to stay in the building, she didnt listen and left the building. Her best friend, a NYC cop bumped into each other as she ran to the ferries. My friend (the cop) was on her way to help at the trade center but wanted to make sure her BF got on to the ferry. On her way back is when the first building collapsed. Had she not bumped into her BF, who know what would have happened.

That is one of by biggest fears. (not terrorism, but losing FH somehow) I feel like I am so blessed to know this wonderful man, and I am so happy, and any minute that can be taken away from me. I don't know what I would do.
That's why I pray everynight since I was 9 years old. Hopefully I, and all of the ladies out there, will continue being blessed, and have a long and happy life with our loves.

Wow, how horrible. That might be the saddest thing I've read in quite some time... I know that my life would be shattered if I ever lost FH .. I KNOW there would be no other after him, he's my everything

to her, and for all of us

In some way, though, a story like this should be a wake-up call for all of us brides. We agonize over all the little details.. and while they are important to US, this should put all our stressing and worrying about wedding planning in perspective ..

Next time we complain about some trivial aspect of our planning, we should instead think about this poor girl and the fact she nevereven got to MARRY her soulmate
