(Sad) My mom ruined my shower surprise!

My MOH has been working tirelessly to plan a beautiful bridal shower for me that was sort of a surprise. So, I was on the phone with my mother this morning and I casually mentioned that I was leaving for Chicago on a work trip for a month, on and off traveling through June First. Very quickly and agitated, she sighs- How are you going to be away when your bridal shower is May 31??? I was so upset- I WAS going to be in town that day. (She knew it was supposed to be a surprise!!)

All she had to do was call my MOH and FI, who knew my travel schedule. I was like, '***? How could you ruin this for me?'- The shower was the one thing I was looking forward to, the one thing someone else was doing for me! I was so incredibly hurt that she didn't want to surprise me! I spent like half the morning crying as I am doing EVERYTHING for the wedding!!! To absolve my immediate family of any stress, we even cut out the RD or engagement party!!! All they have to do is show up for the wedding!!! I can't believe they ruined the shower that wasn't even theirs to ruin, it was my darling MOH who has worked so ****ed hard on it!!!

What an incredible bummer!

I'm so sorry that your mom ruined your surprise for you. Just have a great time when it finally is here.

I agree with Liz. I also had my shower this weekend, and wasn't very surprised, but as soon as you get there, you don't care one bit if it was a surprise or not. Believe me, it doesn't make much of a difference. You will have an awesome time. Like nothing else you've EVER experienced yet.

did you tell her that you were hurt? I think you should say something, may be she didn't mean it, but it is better if you talk about it. JMO I am sure you will have a great time in your shower!

Sorry to read this Marisa I think Lizlen and Kmcwed summed it up best. You are lucky to have NYCMegan as your MOH. I'm sure you will still be overjoyed!!!!!!
