So, my mother was officially put on oxygen due to her Sarcoidosis. While she is sounding better, we just realized that we need to change my centerpieces. I was originally going with a hurrican globa with a candle stuffed with rose petals as little tea lights all over the table. However, since my mother is on oxygen, we have to forego the candles because she cant be around an open flame with her oxygen. She told me not to worry and that she would leave the room whenever she needed to use her oxygen, but I dont want her to miss a second of the wedding. I need to come up with ideas for a new floral centerpiece.....I am not big on flowers so I am not sure what to do. I was thinking about a small square vase stuffed tightly with deep red roses...does anyone have any pictures or can offer me advice as to which flowers to use, etc. My colors are ivory, black and a deep red/

I'm sorry to hear about your mom, but I am so glad she will be able to be at your wedding.
I don't know how to post pics, but if you go to teleflora.com and click on 'collections', they have a whole section titled 'modern cubes'. You might find what you are looking for there. Good luck!

first of all i am so sorry about your mother
as far as the candles, they have those candles but its not like a real candle its a flickering type light that makes it look like a candle inside so its electrical. Kind of the same concept as a fake fireplace. Maybe try and look into that

sorry to hear about your mom i hope she is ok! As far as the CPs go...what about flameless candles...i have seen them at BBB....they are small pilliars that run on battery....might still give you the effect you want without the actual flame...its a bulb...worth a look good luck

I am sorry to hear about your mom. I have seen tea lights at the store not sure if it was michaels or somewhere else and they are not real candles. If you really want candles maybe you can try that.

I'm so sorry about your mom.
Here are pics of my centerpieces - they are dark red (black magic roses)
Thank you for all the well wishes and suggestions. I googled flamesless candles and I found 144 flameless tea lights for $114. Totally worth the $$ if my mom is going to be there to enjoy every minute of my wedding. She is already doing so much for me...making card box, embroidering bags for my bridesmaids, making my ring bearer pillow and countless others things (she is very crafty and home all day). I am going try to figure something out.

Its amazing how unimportant centerpieces seem right now when I thought for a second that my mom would not be in the room for my entire wedding. Puts things into perspective. I could spend tons of money on all the little details to make the reception perfect, but knowing that my fmaily and friends will be with me the whole day from start to finish makes all those other little details seem sooo insignificant! Made me step back and put things back into perspective. Its a celebration of love and two families coming together...not about centerpieces, candles, menus, programs, etc.

you could always use the battery operated tealights for the same 'candle' effect. you can but them in a votive holder with rose petals under and around the tealight.

Glade actually makes candles that run on batteries and im sure if you surround them with flowers they will look gorgeous.. I have them in my home and htey even flicker.. Ofcourse they will be more expensive but will give you the look you are going for....
