Sad - Parents are selling house...it's sold!

My parents are selling there house and I am so sad. I don't live there and haven't since college but I grew up there and lived my whole life there and got married from there. It went on the market Yesterday. This happen to anyone else? I am so depressed about it.

Don't be sad. I am right there with you. My parents are selling their house too. This is a good experience. I am sure your parents are sad like you are and happy at the same time that they will be moving onto something that is better for their lives now.

My parents are selling their house that they have lived in for 39 years. I have lived there all of my 32 years...and I have to admit that I am sad that I will not be able to come there anymore, or that my future children will never be able to see where their father grew up, but I am also happy that my parents are selling the house. They don't need it anymore. It was too big and they are only 2 people.

So just remember all the good times that you had in the house, and be happy....try to be happy for your parents too...That isvery important....Moving is a very stressful thing...

My parents just sold there house/closed on tuesday.
They lived there just shy of 30 years they brought my brother home from the hospital and into that house and I lived there my entire 23 years until I got married.

It sucks especially since my last time there was a few hours over Christmas but it was such an awesome move for my parents. I'm more said because I have no place to stay when I'm on LI now.. lol

They now have a townhouse/apartment in NC that is the same square footage as there old house with no yard for my dad to worry about and if anything breaks my mom calls the maintence man.

Thats what is so great about where my parents are moving too. They bought a condo in Oceanside, NY and they dont have to worry about shoveling, raking, watering the lawn, or any other maintanence at all. Everything is taken care of for them. My mom says it will be like living in a hotel.

The condo is alot smaller than where they live now, and I am sure it will take alot to get use to, but they are coming from a 12 room house, and moving into a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath that needs nothing....because the whole thing was gutted and redone. So I am happy for them, more than I am sad.

I know it will be good for my parents, they are in a 6 bedroom house now that only the 2 of them live in. They are getting a 3 bedroom condo not to far away. It will be better for them and the upkeep. All the kids are just sad though. I guess it also makes sense bc my parents are always travelling (they have 3 other homes besides LI house)..I guess I will just have to get use to it.

Wow that is excellent. I am so happy for your parents....My parents had the open house yesterday, and it went really well. I hope they sell it fast like your parents sold theirs.
