My mom just slipped and mentioned that she has been trying to get in touch with fmil and hasn't heard back from her. I then pried out of my mom that fmil has done NOTHING for my shower. They aren't doing anything for the wedding either. I have an AMAZING family that is helping out sooooo much but it makes me sad that no one on fhs side (other than one fsil) is doing anything. My mom made me promse not to say anything to fh or moh so i needed to get it off my chest somehow! You girls are always here! Thanks!

Ahhhh! She called me this morning but after hearing what my mom said I didn't want to talk to her. That's not good! I have to just forget it and appreciate my mom more!!!!
You need to either let it go, or say something to your FMIL. Something innocent like 'Jane, I understand my mom called you a few times. Did you get her messages?' and see what she says.
Who knows, it may have slipped her mind to call back, or she just doesn't know how to say that they can't help. But not all weddings have equal support from both sides of the equation. We paid for the bulk of the wedding ourselves, and my folks helped out a bit more too, while DH's parents (divorced) paid for the RD. FIL would have helped more if he didn't have two young kids (from the second marriage) who are both in college, and said so many times. MIL is just selfish and thinks the world revolves around her (this is the woman who wore a white lace jacket to my wedding, mind you).
Anyway, long story short, figure out what the deal is with your FMIL and then, yes, appreciate your mom and tell her how much her help means to you. But it sounds like you need to brush off the FMIL. Good luck!
